About Adamawa State Polytechnic, library

The library is one of the units of the institution. It has three libraries in yola, jambutu, and numan through which it provide services to the polytechnic community

The main library in Yola campus began as a college of preliminary studies library which started to function in February 1977, at its inception in 1991, the polytechnic library inherited a collection of about 10,000 volume of books housed in three different classroom blocks from CPS library.

The collection of the library includes books, journals, monographs, periodical, audiovisual and electronic resources design to meet the academic need of the institution.

The college of Administration and Business studies CABS, Numan Library, on the other hand, had 1,000 volumes from the former staff development institute SDI and the stock is also improving through periodic additions

On the 17th July 2017 a new Standard, well Build and Equipped Library was commissioned by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Adamawa Sen. Umaru Jibrilla Bindow.

To provide well trained skilful middle-level manpower that contributes effectively to the Economic and Social Development of established Institution in Adamawa State, the Nation and West Africa as a whole


The library is meant to support the academic and non-academic programs of the Polytechnic the objective of the library are as follows

  • Provision of material in all format that will support teaching, learning and research
  • Provision of conducive atmosphere for study and research
  • Inculcation of sound study and library habits into the students
  • Preservation of materials for future use
